We've not got as much activity here as I would like. More bloggers needed! If you are visiting and want to join in, just send me an email. I've even put a link for you to do it... ***Here***

I've added a commenting facility to the blog, so you can add comments to other people's posts. After a bit of reseach into how to do it I found a link to Enetation which provides the code to link into a blogger template. What do you think? Please try it out.

CAST - Application Mining Empowers Software Development
Helps legacy understanding. A useful tool for the kitbag.

Chutney Technologies - Products
Came across a reference to this in a draft white paper on Web Services. Looks interesting. Maybe worth finding out more.

A socio-political model of the realtionship between IT investments and Business Performance
I've always wondered what was really meant by 'socio-political performance' as an architecture tension in Module 1 of ABP. I found this paper which explores the topic. Boy do I recognise a lot of the symptoms of destructive conflict!

S W E B O K - homepage I'm reviewing the course material for the ABP course and came across a link to this in the notes to module 1, which I hadn't looked at before. This may be of relevance in expanding RPM to provide more guidance and process on software engineering. What do people think?

ebizQ.net: The Portal for e-Business Integration
Dave was after some pointers on training/development on various topics including EAI. This is a really good site. They have a series of online seminars available to people who sign-up (free) as a Gold Club member. BPM and Web Services are hot topics. Our Howard Smith is a regular contributor. There is a webinar tomorrow on service-oriented archtiectures that might be worth attending.

SPAZIO Technologies
I was pointed at this by Dave Cunningham of SLB. A possible interface management tool that deals with file transfer. Not available on OS/400 so doesn't meet the needs of a client of ours in Luton, though.

Blog status comment...
Well not an auspicious start, really. Shortcuts I sent didn't work properly and the Blogger site has been badly affected by a hardware failure. This has stopped us publishing anything and messed up our template. Fortunately the guys at Bloger have now got it sorted, so maybe we can start capturing some stuff in earnest tomorrow. I think I may need to give the rest of the team some encouragement tomorrow. Meanwhile I'll leave my Welblogic 8.1 beta download going. Even with broadband it will take some time - it's 294MB in total! 33% done now, less than an hour to go....

WebLogic Platform 8.1 Beta Documentation
We're looking at BEA Weblogic Platform 8.1 for the Aspire bid - and to use it for some demonstrator development for the lab visit in May.
If you can cope with the size of the download, it has got some useful tutorial stuff on building J2EE apps.

ProActivity - homepage
Proactivity is a process modelling tool used in the iForce centre as part of WiSPA.

John,

Thanks for the EMail,
I've used the links to get to the various places and there are two issues.
When you go to edit the Blog, you need to enter your username and password, which you only get after following the link from the blogger invitation EMail. (May be worth putting this in, in case people expect to get straight to the edit site.)
Also, the link entitled Blog this! gave me Java script errors within notes.
Other than that it seems fine, and on Friday I even managed to post a link (Wayhay !).

Cheers
Stephen
